講義概要

Note: 英語プレゼンテーションIII students should bring their books to the first class. New students can share books with others until they can buy their own. 注意: 英語プレゼンテーションⅢを履修した学生は同じテキストを持参すること。 英語でのプレゼンテーションの仕方を学び実践し、様々なトピックについて英語で自分の意見を言えるようになることを目的とする。グループ内、また全員の前で自らの意見について話をし、プレゼンテーションを行う機会を持つ。また、アイコンタクトやジェスチャーといったプレゼンテーションで必要な技術や、正しい姿勢や必要な声量について経験を通して学ぶ。なお、ウェアクラスはオールイングリッシュで行われる。前7.5週クォーター開講する。週2回授業が行われる。 Goals: To confidently communicate and interact in natural English on a variety of topics. To gain experience talking about experiences and presenting those experiences in small groups and before the whole class. To learn good presentation techniques such as eye-contact, gestures, good posture, & projecting your voice. Jean Ware's class will be taught completely in English. This class meets twice a week for the second half of the semester.

到達目標

学習のポイントとしては次の項目を主な学習目標とする。 (1) 会話力・プレゼンテーション能力の向上 (2) 会話に必要な語彙力・定型表現の修得 (3) 積極的な授業参加（教室内ではできるだけ“英語を話す” こと）

履修のポイント及び留意事項

語学学習では、教室外での予習・復習といった自宅学習が英語力向上のカギとなるが、特に会話力の向上には授業への積極的な参加がポイントとなる。教室内ではできるだけ”英語を話す”ことが求められる。なお、各自、英和辞典（電子辞書可）、ノートは必携のこと。

Explaining the steps or stages of a process. 第4週 Unit 4d Inviting & answering audience questions. 第5週 Unit 4e Giving a presentation about how something works or happens. 第6週 Unit 5a In my opinion: expressing opinions on current issues (in society). 第7週 Unit 5b Summarizing a news story & describing reactions to a news story. 第8週 Unit 5c Beginning a presentation with a common viewpoint & ending with a call to action. 第9週 Unit 5d Using stress and pauses for contrast. 第10週 Unit 5e Giving a persuasive presentation about a current issue. 第11週 Unit 6a In the news: Talking about news headlines and stories. 第12週 Unit 6b Summarizing a news story & describing reactions to a news story. 第13週 Unit 6c Beginning a presentation with a news headline & ending with an unanswered question. Varying your pace by pausing between phrases. 第14週 Unit 6d Giving a presentation about a news story. 第15週 Review&Final Test Review&Written test on Presentation techniques, vocabulary, etc.

評価方法

出席状況、受講姿勢、プレゼンテーションに向けての準備姿勢、グループディスカッションにおける積極的な参加、プレゼンテーションの達成度により総合評価する。

Lessons build on material that was covered in previous lessons, so attendance is important to learn the material covered in class. Our class time is also a good time to practice your English skills and build your vocabulary. When using English, don’t worry about making mistakes. Just do your best! 講義内容を理解するためには、毎回の出席が重要である。

準備学習の内容

Assigned homework should be completed before class. To become skilled in English, it’s important to frequently review vocabulary and grammar. Studying English for ~15 minutes every day is better than studying English for 2 hours once a week. Also, build your reading and listening skills by using material that you can understand 80~90% of the time. Check out the resources on our webpage for English Language Learning <http://moodle.ftokai-u.ac.jp/moodle/course/view.php?id=28>. 予習をすること。事前にテキストに目を通しておくこと。日々、各自英語で会話するよう心がけ、耳慣らし、口慣らしをしておく事が望ましい。
