講義概要

This class will help you prepare for the TOEFL® (Test of English as a Foreign Language) Test. It measures how well you can use English in an academic environment. The TOEFL iBT test is given using the internet and measures all four skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. It is used by 9,000+ colleges and universities in 130+ countries, including the United States, Australia, Canada, and the U.K. The TOEFL® test is important if you want to study in an English-speaking country. Example activities include understanding a lecture and participating in discussions and school activities. This class will focus on preparing for the Speaking part of the TOEFL iBT test. Skills include building academic vocabulary, taking notes on spoken English, planning responses, speaking fluently, and expressing opinions. This class will be taught in English. 留学するために必要な英語力をTOEFLの演習問題等を通して培う。TOEFLテストは、授業で実際に使う英語能力がわかるテストである。TOEFL iBTテストではインターネットを介してReading、Writing、Listening、Speakingの４つの能力が測られる。130を超える国々の9000以上の大学や機関が入学選考基準にTOEFLのテストスコアを採用している。TOEFLテストは英語が話される国に留学したいのであれば必須である。テストでは講義や授業中の討論の理解度を測る問いが出される。 　この授業ではTOEFL iBTテストのSpeaking対策に焦点をあてた実践的な授業を行う。必要となるスキルは、ボキャブラリーを培い、メモをとり、返答を考え、流暢に話すこと、そして、意見を言うことである。授業はすべて英語で行われる。

準備学習の内容

Assigned homework should be completed before class. To become skilled in English, it’s important to frequently review vocabulary and grammar. Studying English for ~15 minutes every day is better than studying English for 2 hours once a week. Also, build your reading and listening skills by using material that you can understand 80~90% of the time. Check out the resources on our Moodle page for English Language Learning. 予習をすること。事前にテキストに目を通しておくこと。日々、各自英語で会話するよう心がけ、耳慣らし、口慣らしをしておく事が望ましい。
